I love this photograph in Vogue Africa because of the richness of her lips and the color contrast with her eyes. The make up artist make it his or her duty to accentuate her strong features which where her beautiful eyes, lips and highlighted her cheek bones.

Japan

I love this style because it's fun , vintage and eccentric. They appear like barbie dolls . Big beautiful eyes with contrasting make up and the lips are not too loud but inviting to the eye. Well done.

China

Bold and a fashion statement goes for this wonderful makeup piece. Eyes appear bold and daring . The lips top off the eye popping invitation with a classic finish. * This is my favorite*

Italy

Elegance at it's Best: Iryna Storozhuk

The Miami Style Magazine would proudly present to you Iryna Storozhuk. This sensational model has been the talk of Miami and continues to be a successful model. She is strong, intelligent and graceful. Iryna truly knows the do's and dont's to the modeling industry. She is such a delight to speak to and for that very reason I had to feature her.She is not only just breaktakingly beautiful but she is a very devoted young woman who knows what it truly takes to be a fashion model .

Here are some of her accomplishments below:

Iryna Storozhuk (born 22 May 1985) is a Ukrainian model. She is of Russian descent from her mother and of Ukrainian descent from her father.
Born in Izmail, Ukraine's small navy city, she lived with her parents and older sister in unpleasant post Soviet Union conditions. Iryna’s beauty was noticed when she turned 15 after she won school’s beauty pageant. That was a start to never-ending dreams about modeling and world of fashion.
Just after moving to Odessa to study in university, Iryna enrolled in a modeling academy, where she learned ladylike behavior and etiquette. Fortunately, she also went to casting opportunities, and one day, she caught the eye of a scouting agent. He told her that a great future was in store for her; all she had to do was learn English and pursue her dreams.
Convinced by her parents that her life could not change for the better without education, Iryna left behind her passion for modeling and focused on becoming an accountant. But world of fashion did not want to let go of her. Iryna modeled for local Ukrainian designers whenever she could get away from studying. Right after getting her bachelor degree in accounting at 21, she moved to Miami to try her hand at modeling. Delighted to work, she was a dream client for the Posche Models agency and was an inspired woman for many American designers as Eva Danielle, Francisco Azucar and Carmelita Couture.
When she was 21 years old, she made headway in modeling but for some time, she was distracted however, after marrying American mortgage banker Mark Bruni. She gave birth to their son London George Bruni on July 17, 2008.
Soon, Iryna's phone was ringing off the hook. She got #8 spot in Ukrainian most beautiful women vote, and then Eva Danielle called to hire her for their big Miami Beach Fashion Week show.

After taking her 2 years old son London to the shoot at Octopustudio, London was officially the hot new face in town.
When you think model you think: glamour, glitter, superficial and vain people, anorexia. But Iryna from the start was different. She is a truly strong woman who lived through a difficult childhood in Ukraine, worked hard and had the strength to leave family and native country, move forward, work harder and become a successful model and a loving mother and wife.

Iryna Storozhuk: model, mother, wife and inspiration.
She made more than 40 runway shows and has appeared as a cover of fashion spread model on more than 19 magazines.

Africa Unlimited : TRIBUTE TO AFRICA

Once again The Miami Style Magazine presents our latest cover girl Shana Lefleur in her latest shoot. As you all must know we are so proud of her efforts and totally support her ventures in her modeling career. The most interesting part about this shoot is one of our celebrity make up artists Jay Fierce owner of Just Jay Imagery was the selected MUA for this beautiful piece. Just Jay or known as Jay Fierce ( three snaps hunny because he is sensational) was the celebrity featured make up artist on my first production on the November 2009 cover with cover model Megan De Vita.

I'm so excited and happy to see how he still has that daring flare to his craft . Just Jay is a wonderful person to work with indeed.

Below is another wonderful shot of Shana with of course Just Jay Imagery.

What an elegant photograph and A big Plus to the magazine. I can't wait to see what she will come up with next. Bravo Shana bravo Just Jay and bravo to you Joe Wesley for this wonderful concept.

Inside the luxurious Viceroy Hotel : Club 50 Niteclub

(  Shown above is Anaiyah Sunshine Inside the Viceroy Hotel in

One of the hottest new club venues in Miami that everyone is ranting and raving about is Club 50 at the luxurious Viceroy Hotel. Most people often wonder why is this club named Club 50 and not some artistic name. The answer is quite simple the club is on the 50th floor. You are greeted by the valet as soon as you pull up but beware club hoppers, there are three towers to the Viceroy Hotel and you might get lost.

( shot taken from the 50th floor inside The Viceroy Hotel through
                                      glass window)
The club is located in Tower I and once you are inside you are in a beautiful mirrored elevator that has a two way passage on both sides . On the fifth floor the hallway is decorated with vintage Chinese statues and antique pieces.
What a beautiful sight and venue. This venue is a A plus in my book.
Here's some more photos at the beautiful Viceroy

Hair, skin and Nails Fiasco ... What can a Girl or Guy do?

Words from the Director herself shown above: Photography by Felix Miniziokoff
MUA & Hair: Anaiyah Sunshine

Most people often wonder how can you have great skin or a nice coiff . The thing is the way to great skin  and beautiful hair is having good habits. You can not expect your skin to be perfect after eating fried pork, sauted buttered onions, macaroni and a diet coke. That's absurd that is telling your skin one thing ; " Hey time for damage." Nor can you rely on cheap hair care products or quick hair fixes for your hair to be healthy and full of volume.

Sometimes we won't have the time or ability to eat all the fruits and vegetables we need inorder to have radiant skin and hair so that's why vitamins are the key to flawless skin. Supplements that have multiple vitamins help a whole bunch .

Here are some questions some of my readers asked me to answer for them

From :Maria L. ( Miami Florida age 18)
I have really really dry hair and I've used practically every shining product just to give my hair a beautiful gloss and I end up everytime with a greasy mess . What are some suggestions you think I should do?

Answer: Well Maria I personally know what you are talking about. As a child I've used pink lotions to hair grease to shiners you name it but there are 2  sure effective natural treatments that most dont even use and they have it at home .
1. Olive Oil!! My all time favorite ! Do you know how effective Olive Oil is for your hair? You dont even have to use much if you use a dab or two, then do hair manipulation ( which is a wide brush used for hair wraps and brush your maine atleast 80 strokes you will see the natural oils along with the olive oil will not only grow your hair but it will appear shiner too.

2. A vitamin capsule of vitamin E. After every wash use atleast one no more than 2 unless you have really thick hair and put it on your maine. Rollerset your hair along with Lottibody Hair lotion until fully dry and possibly blowdry and flat iron style and you will see a big difference. After a month or two your hair will appear healthier and stronger.

Most importantly effective hair products that cators to your hair folicles like PAUL MITCHELL are highly recommended. It's your hair dont be cheap and treat your hair with the respect that it deserves.

John J. ( Brooklyn Nyc) age 25
I am tired of going through so many acnee prevention products what do you recommend for me? And how do I get rid of razor bumps when I get a tape from the barbershop?

Answer:
I do see alot of products on the shelf that cator to acnee products  John and it's a shame we have so many that are ineffective. The key is to know what is your skin type. Your skin type is the basic answer to your acnee blues.
Oily skin : I love using Queen helene products because they have mint julep products that really work your pours to have clear healthy skin
Make sure you get a professional opinion from your dermatologist to know your skin type. I recommend a vitamins E, AND Cod Liver or Fish oil.Believe it or not it really helps you . If your pores are clogged in the inside it will show on the outside. Make it an effort to drink pleanty of water and allow some fruits and veggies in your meals.

Now in reference to your razor bumps after a tape , it could be a possibility that the razor the barber is using can be not so sanitary. Make sure you inspect where you go when you get a hair cut. Also there are pleanty of quality male care products who cator to that issue but if you're trying to prevent any scars after the bumps shea butter( the real one) or coco butter( the stick) if applied correctly can save you from alot of tape nitemares.

Darlene G. ( Atlanta, Georgia) age 23
I love my nails and I always get my nails done at my local nair care salon but I haven't seen any improvement in my nail bed or just my nails period.
Answer:
Well Darlene it seems you might need to go to another shop. First off ladies and gents you should come to a salon that caters to your needs. Don't go to a place just to go and receive horrible treatment. That takes away from the point of you even trying to be there in the first place.
Another thing it's not a bad thing if you need to shop around. I know some salons give you the press to get your nails done but if you don't like the service dont get it done.
A good lemon soke is in order. Another good thing to do is to go to your local GNC and find the vitamins for Hair Skin Body and Nails . These vitamins were construted to specifically cator to all above mentioned.

Well ladies and gents I hope this helps.

Joesphine Baker : A work of Art.

The Miami Style Magazine wants to say bravo to an amazing lady. Joesphine Baker was the pioneer to modern fashion, dance, and elegance. Most know her as a wonderful performance artist through her ability of dance and song but also she was a spy to the French Resistance in World War II.

More about Joesphine
Josephine Baker sashayed onto a Paris stage during the 1920s with a comic, yet sensual appeal that took Europe by storm. Famous for barely-there dresses and no-holds-barred dance routines, her exotic beauty generated nicknames "Black Venus," "Black Pearl" and "Creole Goddess." Admirers bestowed a plethora of gifts, including diamonds and cars, and she received approximately 1,500 marriage proposals. She maintained energetic performances and a celebrity status for 50 years until her death in 1975. Unfortunately, racism prevented her talents from being wholly accepted in the United States until 1973.
She enjoyed moderate success at The Plantation Club in New York after Shuffle Along. However, when Josephine traveled to Paris for a new venture, La Revue Nègre, it proved to be a turning point in her career. Amongst a compilation of acts, Josephine and dance partner Joe Alex captivated the audience with the Danse Sauvage. Everything about the routine was new and exotic, and Josephine, boldly dressed in nothing but a feather skirt, worked the audience into frenzy with her uninhibited movements. She was an overnight sensation.

Josephine's immense popularity afforded her a comfortable salary, which she spent mostly on clothes, jewelry and pets. She loved animals, and at one time she owned a leopard (Chiquita), a chimpanzee (Ethel), a pig (Albert), a snake (Kiki), a goat, a parrot, parakeets, fish, three cats and seven dogs.

Her career thrived in the integrated Paris society; when La Revue Nègre closed, Josephine starred in La Folie du Jour at the Follies-Bergère Theater. Her jaw-dropping performance, including a costume of 16 bananas strung into a skirt, cemented her celebrity status. Josephine rivaled Gloria Swanson and Mary Pickford as the most photographed woman in the world, and by 1927 she earned more than any entertainer in Europe. She starred in two movies in the early 1930s, Zou-Zou and Princess Tam-Tam, and moved her family from St. Louis to Les Milandes, her estate in Castelnaud-Fayrac, France.

A 1936 return to the United States to star in the Ziegfield Follies proved disastrous, despite the fact that she was a major celebrity in Europe. American audiences rejected the idea of a black woman with so much sophistication and power, newspaper reviews were equally cruel (The New York Times called her a "Negro wench"), and Josephine returned to Europe heartbroken.

Josephine served France during World War II in several ways. She performed for the troops, and was an honorable correspondent for the French Resistance (undercover work included smuggling secret messages written on her music sheets) and a sub-lieutenant in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force. She was later awarded the Medal of the Resistance with Rosette and named a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor by the French government for hard work and dedication.

Josephine visited the United States during the 50s and 60s with renewed vigor to fight racism. When New York's popular Stork Club refused her service, she engaged a head-on media battle with pro-segregation columnist Walter Winchell. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) named May 20 Josephine Baker Day in honor of her efforts.

It was also during this time that she began adopting children, forming a family she often referred to as "The Rainbow Tribe." Josephine wanted her to prove that "children of different ethnicities and religions could still be brothers." She often took the children with her cross-country, and when they were at Les Milandes tours were arranged so visitors could walk the grounds and see how natural and happy the children in "The Rainbow Tribe" were.

Josephine continued to travel to the United States, and during her visits she developed a close friendship with American artist Robert Brady. Now divorced from her fourth husband Jo Bouillon, she was looking for companionship on a more platonic level. Brady felt the same, and on a trip to Acapulco, Mexico in September 1973 they went to an empty church and exchanged marriage vows. Though no clergy was present, and they were never legally joined, it was an important personal bond that she and Brady maintained the rest of her life. Josephine told very few people about the pseudo marriage, fearing the press would ridicule it.

Josephine agreed to perform at New York's Carnegie Hall that same year. Due to previous experience, she was nervous about how the audience and critics would receive her. This time, however, cultural and racial growth was evident. Josephine received a standing ovation before the concert even began. The enthusiastic welcome was so touching that she wept onstage.

On April 8, 1975 Josephine premiered at the Bobino Theater in Paris. Celebrities such as Princess Grace of Monaco and Sophia Loren were in attendance to see 68-year-old Josephine perform a medley of routines from her 50 year career. The reviews were among her best ever. Days later, however, Josephine slipped into a coma. She died from a cerebral hemorrhage at 5 a.m. on April 12.

More than 20,000 people crowded the streets of Paris to watch the funeral procession on its way to the Church of the Madeleine. The French government honored her with a 21-gun salute, making Josephine Baker the first American woman buried in France with military honors. Her gravesite is in the Cimetiére de Monaco, Monaco.

Josephine Baker has continued to intrigue and inspire people throughout the world. In 1991, HBO released The Josephine Baker Story. The movie won two Emmys, for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries (Lynn Whitfield) and Outstanding Art Direction. The movie also picked up one of three Golden Globe nominations.
