Inspiration: Toby Lynn Gems : Designer Spotlight

This designer is so creative. I love her designs and overall perception when it comes to her art. I was so happy to know she wanted to be featured on the blog and it's just a great delight to see her amazing work.

More about Toby Lynn :

Toby Lynn Gems specializes in bold statement pieces. Each design is a unique piece based upon her inspiration from the periods of Art Deco, Belle Epoque, Art Nouveau,Georgian and Modernism. Toby uses precious and semi precious stones, crystals, sterling silver, 14kt and 18kt gold. Most pieces are one of a kind and limited edition. Toby Lynn Gems is about drama, color, and making a woman feel special.

Words from Toby Lynn
"Jewelry, to me is an extension of fashion, beauty and art. It is more than just metal and stones. It helps women express who they are. Certain colors and metals bring out and enhance a woman’s eye color and skin tone. There is great beauty in juxtaposed materials like lace, crystals, and rubies that can bring out warmth in the skin and a sparkle in the eye. Jewelry can also be used to distract from and correct flaws: A great choker can distract from a less than perfect neck and draw attention to the woman’s more perfect assets such as her eyes or cheekbones."

Diamonds are Forever: Shane Mc Coubrey Jewelry

Shown above The Carmen shown above Price: £7500
A total knock em dead personality of a stone... a flamboyant 34 carats of asymetric cut aquamarine from Brazil, internally flawless with at least 2 carats of claw set diamonds set in 18 carat white gold. Very rare).

When looking at this artist it is a jaw dropping wow. Jewels are a girls best friend don't you think?

I was completely amazed when this artist wanted me to feature his styles on the blog.

More about Shane Mc Coubrey

Shane graduated from the Royal College in 1993 with an MA in Menswear and worked for a number of luxury goods companies in the last ten years including Samsonite’s Black Label, Dickson Concepts, Dunhill Group, Louis Vuitton Group and Gucci.
Each piece is a ‘one-off’, and made in our workshop in Hatton Garden,London's premier jewellery quarter since 1650.

A great deal of research is put into each stone for its fire, colour and brilliance – coupled with dynamic, often simple design, ensures we are noticeably different. Tourmalines, aquamarines, amethysts, beryl and garnets, coupled with unusal assymetric cutting, creates spectacular one-off pieces that become conversation pieces.
Our HOME VISIT SERVICE enables you to choose your item in the privacy and comfort of your own home where Shane will bring a selection of hand made items to choose from or if you prefer a number of loose stones to talk about your idea of design. We are also available at our showroom By Appointment Only. Click here for details.

Private commissions are 75% of our business and the finished item can be hand delivered to your door at no extra cost. The exceptional design and service makes us truly unique in a world of multi-brand, homogenous products.

here's some  my favorites below
Named after Jane Russel, the 50's bombshell this cocktail ring is a mixture of class and sexiness and a hint of overt daring. 14 carats of yellow tourmaline with asymetric set 10 diamonds and square cut 0.5 amethysts on top of the ring add a hint on each side of suprising beauty of contrast.
The Jane

Price: £1595.00

Like its namesake Betty Grable, the forgotten star of the Forties,it has the elements of glamour and a touch of humour about it. This ring is a symbol of total decadence in an age of restraint with 32 carats of yellow beryl in a stunning unusual pear cut. Slightly asymetrically cut and 15 flawless 0.15 carat diamonds following the curve for half the ring it creates a stunning visual feast...and can be worn two ways depending on how you feel. To top it off the intricate handwork of setting underneath in 18ct yellow gold on the band makes it a real design marvel. The 18 carat yellow gold british hallmark is on the inside band. Beryl is in the same family as emerald and the fabulous stone, aquamarine.
The Betty

Price: £6500.00

A very cool refined 9 carat green amethyst ring set in palladium metal with nearly 1 carat of pave set diamonds.

Palladium is tipped to be the hot metal of the future and is about to be rewarded with a hallmarking status.
 The Audrey Ring

Price: £1595.00

An 31 carat flawless oval amethyst with two 18 carat yellow gold caps at each end set on a band of palladium also marked with a palladium stamp on the inside band. The underneath of the ring is equally important and has the usual intricate design detail in two arcs of support that is now synonomous with a Shane McCoubrey piece of jewellery. As with Katherine Hepburn itself it is a forceful yet a beautiful contemporary example of immense personality wrapped up in a ring, yet somehow resonant of dazzling days gone by.
The Katherine

Price: £1650.00
