Music Video of the Month: John Legend - Made to Love

One of the best songs made by the talented John Legend. The composition of this song is flawless. He takes you into a world of bliss and fantasy as he blends his notes perfectly through each measure. This is a definite yes to store on your playlist.

Indian Bridal Makeup by Anaiyah Sunshine - Kiss of Sultana Concept

I love Indian Bridal makeup since my mother's side of the family have roots from India this was a great tribute to my family's background. What I love about Indian Bridal makeup is the theme of being so exotic. The eyes are the keys to the soul and in this style of makeup it's just captivating.

I chose i really close friend of mine to be my Indian bride and since she is natively from India I knew she would make a wonderful muse. The photographer I used was Peter Alcazar. You can find his work here at www.peteralcazar.4ormat.com.

Tips of Indian makeup :
1.  Learn your color wheel see what colors that would really compliment each other. Highlight areas and be very steady with your blending of the brush. Also know about contrasts if the eyes are the main focus then tone the lip color and vice.versa.
2. Be daring ! If you feel a aqua blue shadow would compliment canary yellow then go for it. Its all a fantasy it never hurts to try.

Eventually I shared it on Iman Cosmetics on twitter and I love using their makeup eventually Iman Cosmetics returned my online post with an amazing response .

Inspiration: Toby Lynn Gems : Designer Spotlight

This designer is so creative. I love her designs and overall perception when it comes to her art. I was so happy to know she wanted to be featured on the blog and it's just a great delight to see her amazing work.

More about Toby Lynn :

Toby Lynn Gems specializes in bold statement pieces. Each design is a unique piece based upon her inspiration from the periods of Art Deco, Belle Epoque, Art Nouveau,Georgian and Modernism. Toby uses precious and semi precious stones, crystals, sterling silver, 14kt and 18kt gold. Most pieces are one of a kind and limited edition. Toby Lynn Gems is about drama, color, and making a woman feel special.

Words from Toby Lynn
"Jewelry, to me is an extension of fashion, beauty and art. It is more than just metal and stones. It helps women express who they are. Certain colors and metals bring out and enhance a woman’s eye color and skin tone. There is great beauty in juxtaposed materials like lace, crystals, and rubies that can bring out warmth in the skin and a sparkle in the eye. Jewelry can also be used to distract from and correct flaws: A great choker can distract from a less than perfect neck and draw attention to the woman’s more perfect assets such as her eyes or cheekbones."

ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Toby Lynn Gems is the Brainchild of Toby Fischer. Ms Fischer is a long time member of the Fashion Community. She started her career as a journalist covering fashion and lifestyle In the United States and Abroad. Fischer grew up in a family immersed in the world of fashion; surrounded by designers. production and business people. When most children were playing with toys she was playing with luscious rare fabrics, jewelry trims, crystals and buttons. Ms Fischer went on to write the best selling book “Dress Code” (Understanding The Hidden Messages Behind Women's Clothing Choices) It was published by Random House and her dear friend and mentor the late Geraldine Stutz of Henri Bendel Fame. Ms Fischer is a long time collector of antique textiles, jewelry and clothing, she started collecting in her grandmother's and mothers closets and jewelry boxes. Ms Fischer began designing pieces for the theatre and special red carpet events. Soon afterwards, she started receiving requests for one of kind custom pieces. It took off from there.

Travel in Style : YAY Designs

On the go or in a rush? Sometimes we just pull the worst thing in our closets and put something on just because of the spur of the moment. What if I told you I have a great solution to all your traveling on the go troubles and you will look fashionable everytime with a different look.

More about Yay Designs:
YAY | Yevgeniya Alexandrovna Yushkova is dedicated to designing elegant, distinctive yet practical “convertible” clothing, combining unique concept, quality and value, to accompany a confident and sophisticated professional woman throughout her busy day without a need to go home to change.
YAY convertible clothing was created to accompany a modern woman who does not believe in conforming to a cookie-cutter lifestyle that surrounds her but who would rather be her own stylist by being creative and distinctive with her looks.
We take pride in dedicating ourselves to invent the perfect garment that fits her life’s every impulse by designing each piece to be unique yet full of comfort and versatility. By carefully selecting fine materials from all over the world and applying American craftsmanship, our aspiration is to bring durability and originality to each look of YAY convertible clothing .

The perks of YAY Designs :
WHY YAY CONVETIBLE CLOTHING ARE the BEST CLOTHES TO TRAVEL IN AND WITH?
Convertible or Multiway Clothing is great for traveling because it takes less space in your luggage allowing you to travel light while providing many different looks. For example YAY convertible dresses are great as they can be dressed up or down and can also be worn as cardigans or wraps giving you many style options. YAY convertible cardigans are not only stylish and makes you look good during your travel but also very comfortable and can be used as a blanket on the plain instead of a bulky sweater and if you get hot, just wrap it around the neck into a beautiful scarf that will freshen up your outfit with a pop of color.

When you start preparing for a trip think of convertible clothing and reversible clothing they are ideal for packing light and are best clothes to travel in. Also look for basic pair of comfortable pants, to pair up with YAY scarves and wrapsthat can be used as tops when the occasion calls for one.

Imagine that you can go on a 5 day vacation and you can have a new outfit for day and night every day with just a pair of jeans, couple basic tees and few YAY convertible garments.  It will all fit into a small bag and still leave you space for your favorite pair of shoes or two as well as necessary cosmetics. You might think that is not possible; it is with YAY convertible clothing.
Here some other tips on what to pack and what clothes to travel in; You want to look tidy after a flight and ready for your destination, not wrinkled like you just woke up in your pajamas then take clothes that contain synthetics with natural fiber blends or Microfiber. It is stretchy, never wrinkles, not clingy. It wears comfortably as pajamas but look very stylish and polished even after many hours on a plane. When you pack a pair of pants and some basic tees stays with basic medium to dark colors that would be easy to match and let YAY convertible cardigan or dress be your pop of color either as an outfit by itself or an accessory when you convert it to a scarf. If you choose to travel in a dress you need something that is not too fitted but still with a shape that will underline your body and style like YAY Gladiolus Travel Dress and a pair of cute little shoes. The key to a successful travel wardrobe is flexibility. Pack less and get many more different styles while packing light.

THE BEST THINGS ABOUT YAY CONVERTIBLE CLOTHING AND TRAVELING LIGHT ARE:
◦       NO CHECKING QUEUES
◦       NO WAITING FOR LUGGAGE AT THE ARRIVAL
◦       NO CHECKED LUGGAGE FEES
◦       WEAR AGAIN LOOKING DIFFERENT EVERY DAY
◦       ROLL IT UP OR SLEEP IN IT ON THE PLANE AND IT WON’T WRINKLE

Work of Art : Designs by Jovanna

The Miami Style is so thrilled to feature this talented designer. Her intricate designs are by far are amazing ! I love the composition of the jewelry, I adore every concept !

More about Jovanna

positive feed back made her think to create her my own brand.
DESIGNS BY JOVANA is  the brand of Jovana Morrison, a multi facet business which includes Jewelry & Accessories, Pet Accessories and Professional Face Painting. Her aesthetic in general is more than mainstream design. Conceived from an artistic point of view for the customer that is looking for pieces that stand out from the usual, someone adventurous who enjoy color and elements of surprice . Every piece is one of a kind 100% hand crafted; uniqueness in the design as well as the use and manipulation of materials such glass, leather, wood among others that have been up-cycled in many cases, mixing the old and new, creating a timeless, modern and edgy style. She is in the early stages of success. Her drive factor is to express herself artistically and the terapiutic byproduct that she received when creating. For years once she came to USA, she started to practice and get better at designing and creating clothing. Also her passion for fashion lead her to start collecting a broad variety of materials from bargain shops to garage sales thinking that one day she was going to use them somehow. Her friend kindly introduced her to some media sources and online boutiques so she started to write them. Then she got a reply from this exclusive Eco online store interested in her necklace prototypes. She was accepted and created for them a 10 set collection of earings, necklaces and cuffs. That project really opened her eyes to the things that she did't know she was capable of and started figuring out what her point of view and style was. The positive feed back made make  think to create my own brand. She thinks what makes her better at what she does is continually feeding her eyes with new things that happen in the fashion world. Nature always provides inspiration. Many times the limitations of tools or supplies concerning a design force me to adapt producing unespected results. Finding freedom within  limitations. that is what she likes. She started with only necklaces on black satin and hand ground glass components. Later when the high end Eco online boutique accepted her it pushed her to get out of her confort zone which lead her to upgrade the designs and materials such us leather instead of satin, hand painted designs and stain glass. After that she was ready for more variety with fewer limits. More materials and designs inspired bracelets, necklaces in mix media. It is really exiting to create textures, and interesting compositions. She have also spent some time making accessories like belts, leather ear warmers and various hats designs.

Here are my favorite looks below

Star Spangeled FASHION

I wanted to do a makeup look that is different than most online when it comes to celebrating The Fourth of July. The Patriot (photo above) I wanted to show the passion of the American Soldier who sees no fear in fighting for their country. The tears which are the stars are tears of a new beginning.

This photo entitled Lady Liberty is my interpretation of the New Age after the Emancipation Proclamation. The statue of Liberty was a gift from the French in celebration of the recent emancipated Negro slaves . She was a statue of a woman of color being freed from slavery however, history states that the first statue had to be returned to France. They were scared since this was just a recent event to avoid riots they asked the French government to change Lady Liberty as a white woman in chains just to avoid conflict.

What products and cosmetics did I use :Lady Liberty
First I used a light primer from wet and wild cosmetics so the makeup could last a bit longer through the shoot. Then I used concealer underneath the eyes as well as primed my eyelids so my eyeshadow color can stick out. Then I applied concealer on my lips so the pink lipstick from Dior to scream for attention. Once i primed and concealed my face it was time to work .
1.Black Radiance foundation( totally love them)
Evenly distributed and then I applied Kiss powder to smooth out the face
2. Then Applied a cute rosy cheek powder from Bobby Brown and contoured my cheeks.( don't go past the nose if you do buff it out with your face powder)

eyes: Since I primed out my eyelids it was so easy to apply a white eyeshadow. Apply the shadow in a circular motion to cover any negative space( missed spots)
In the creases apply a strong reddish bronze and under the lower eyelash use a strong blue. Inside the lid use a cream based eyeliner preferably smashbox and glide the liner with your eyeliner brush.

Killer brows:  Conceal your brow. Make your eyebrows disappear!
My secret for brows is find the brow bone and and draw on the top of the eyebrow and draw under the eyebrow. Use your eyeliner brush to guide inside the brow which you will have a slight color on the brow. Use your concealer above the top line of the brow you drew and underneath the bottom . The concealer will help you with stray hairs and keep your brows neat the more concealer you apply on the illustration of your brow the smaller it will appear. As a finisher in this case to make it appear blue use the same eyeshadow you used on the lower lid for your eye makeup on your eye brows and lightly guide the color. Now use your face powder with kabuki or nice firm powder brush for your forehead and use a foundation brush to buff out the bottom concealed part of your brow. Blend it carefully and take your time.
Finished off the look with a makeup setter spray  from ELF cosmetics.

That is my secret tips for today!

Makeup that Sparkles

For my gifted makeup artists who look on the blog for my top picks of makeup artistry you are in for a treat. Here are some amazing creations I have found that will amaze you. In rhinestone artistry its all about the imagination. You don't have to over do it but you can wow your audience.
What I love about rhinestones in makeup it fills in the negative space on composition. Negative space meaning that what can be placed in a area that is available can be placed. Here are some of my favorite looks below.
