I was tired of being lied to and taken advantage of by salons, retail stores and websites. I was tired of one hairstylist blaming the other for the damage they caused to my hair. I’ve had a bad hair cut, I’ve been overcharged, waited 30 minutes to an hour for my hair appointment to actually start, sat with chemicals for too long, and had just plane incompetent hairstylists.

I kept trying to find my niche in social media. It seemed all the sites were blue and white. Very boring.    This music pick of the week goes to KillSwitch Engage in one of their past songs entitled " Arms of Sorrow" . Music is beautifully written and lyrically sound. The melodies of the ad lib and harmonizations were on point. This is truly a band that knows that they are doing.

The name alone strikes you; Fashion 4 Compassion. You just can't help but wonder what a beautiful name. Here at the Miami Style Magazine we would like to take the time to introduce a very special project . This is one of the few projects that I truly support because of the source of their start in the industry.

So what is F4C? Is a beautiful company that receives donated designer shoes and handbags from fashion moguls like you and I and then auction the items online to give the proceeds to victims of human trafficking. When I first came across this project I shed so many tears of joy to know there is some people out there who is making a fashionable contribution to help someone in need. Did you know that 80 percent of the worlds population women and children are going through this everyday.

What I truly love about this site is that it comes from my home state. It brings a sense of pride to know Florida cares.

On this site you have a wide range of designers that are being auctioned to the new favorites to the die hard must haves. Instead of wondering aimlessly in Aventura Mall or Pembroke Lakes Mall why wont you stop by this online store and try to get a few things. In this case at least you wont feel too guilty and you will be content to know your purchase has made a difference in someone's life.

Everyone who has used this popular website. You know "Craigslist.org" . Well is it really the best place to find some type of advice in reference to your daily life? Well I was scrolling the pages today and I tend to bounce off and on the pages to the rants and raves section. You know the one section that usually have the most racist comments most would never bother to write but there is one super jerk who usually does and craves for the support or dislike from his neighbors.

Well tonight I found a shocking link . This link is well in my fairest opinion the reason why some people shouldn't even have a uterus to create such a well let me just say kindly ( because of readers) special person.

In the rant or rave the poster declares that the individual should kill his or herself for being unemployed and not being financially stable to support children. Ok newsflash internet Donald Trump in fantasy land , how about you donate some money or sponsor those who you so disapprove of?

Instead you take your time glorifying this ideal behind a computer screen and try to assume you will get some whimisical approval online declaring that you are just and such a strong willed person. Ok Mr. Sensitivity man up. Are you serious that you would take the liberty and waste 5 minutes in your day to rant about something so ridiculous.

So I walked into this amazing antique shop in Miami one day and I was completely blown away.Most antique shops usually have things placed but not thematically. When I mean by the word thematically I mean that they create a look based on the timeline of the pieces. I was in complete awe and I was speechless. Apartment Worries : Do's and Dont's of finding your new home

Apartment hunting especially when it's your first move out is a special thing. You are so excited to move out of your new pad and break away from mom and dad and you practically find something to show you are an adult. Well we at The Miami Style have some tips for you new apartment seekers to find that ideal home of your dreams.

Rule #1

Pay attention to detail. I'm not just saying how the paint looks nice or it appears clean when there is no electricity in the unit. Overlook every piece of the space . Remember you do not want to move into an apartment from hell.

Rule #2

Have options. When looking for an apartment make sure you have a list of places you wish to live and a range of the lowest to the most you can afford. By doing so, you can overlook your decisions and feel great on your decision without feeling rushed.

Rule #3

Do not live outside of your means! This is a financial crash if you do so. It's not your friends you need to impress you need to impress your finances because if you do not you will not be able to save nor will you be able to really relax at home .

Rule #4

When paying rent make sure you pay with a money order and retrieve your receipts.You do not want to pay cash for cash will not show proof of payment. Many instances tennants and landlords face lawsuits every year for this. Money is not tangible and there is no proof of payment when exchanged . This way by money order you have a routing id number to the money order and a money order receipt just incase of a landlord tennant lawsuit you have documentation.

Rule #5

Know about the area you are moving to. Do not move to an area that you are not familiar with. This can cause many setbacks.

Rule #6

If things look suspicious in your new place where the owner is imposing and early payment, aggressiveness with the rent or so forth, you can google the name of the building to see if they are under foreclosure. If by any chance your building is going under foreclosure, seek immediate legal advice.

EXERCISING IN STYLE

Hello wonderful readers. I know it's been a minute since The Miami Style Blog has graced the scene. 2011 is finally here and I know some people are planning this year to stay physically fit. How can one achieve their maximum potential?

1. Never set a goal that's impossible to reach.( Like forcing yourself to be on a treadmill for 2 hours everyday when you have not given your body enough time to adapt to the workout machine.)
a. Start the treadmill for 30 minutes every other day. break for 15 minutes and do light leg lifts and stretch exercises.

2. Know your body is not a robot. You can not assume that your body will adapt to an exercise routine that it is not accostumed to.

a. Space out your reps.( repitions of exercises or amount of the exercise activity) Do not try to establish a work out with a routine or pattern that you can not committ.

3. Water water and more water! Understand that drinking enough water in a work out is essential . Do not attempt to start a workout without drinking or bringing water.
a. You can passout during the apogee ( high point or peak ) of your exercise routine.

4. Exercise must go hand and hand with a well based diet. The foods you eat will assist you in your actiivity.

KISSING NITE MARES : WHEN DATES GO WRONG

Have you ever experienced a date where things just go terribly wrong? Even though most of us wont admit it we have at least have come encounter with this. You know the date that you will always remember. Here are a few dates some of my readers submitted to me below.

Lonely in Miami 27, Female

So I was about 22 years old and I was off and on with my boyfriend at the time. One day during one of our usual fights I decided to call it quits and began to search for the new Prince Charming. (So I thought.) I ran into an old friend who was a successful banker, smart funny and intelligent. He drove a nice car , had a great job and what I thought was wonderful guy. We went out on a dinner date to a drive in theatre and everything was working out just fine. He invited me to his home to watch a movie. This is where things were starting to go downhill.

First , when we came to his house we had to tip toe like if we were spies. After we got inside this so called room he called an apartment it was super small and it felt like a janitor closet. Ok I gave him the benefit of the doubt and stayed to watch a movie . As the movie was about midway, I started to hear a weird sound . He was sniffing my arm all the way to my ear like as if he was a Hoover vacuum cleaner. I was so petrified and completely grossed out I ran out of there as as quickly as possible , jumped in my car and sped off. The irony of the whole thing is that he had the absolute nerve to tell me that I still wanted him after that. Okay loser that would only apply if I had called you afterwards.

Crazy for Life 22 Miami Fl

So like I was 17 and there was this older guy in High School that I thought was the hottest thing alive. Eventually through a mutual friend of ours we eventually hooked up. Everything was great I thought we were going to hit it off. One day he invited me to a date in South Beach where he lived at his house. So I went like an idiot thinking I could skip school and have this wonderful afternoon. Yea Right. So I was in his room hanging out and listening to music when he stepped out. I decided to replay the last song where I came in contact with a folder that had my name on it. He had every song that he felt was about me .At first I thought it was cute until I saw another folder. There were photographs of me. Photographs that I have never seen in places at school that I swore no one would have taken.He had photos of me walking , talking and interacting in school. I totally freaked out. So I quickly snuck out the back door changed my number and made sure he never contacted me again.

I had the chance after high school to speak to the hottest guy in my senior year class. He was the school jock, valedictorian, and just a great person; so I thought. He came by my house and we began

to talk in the front yard. We began to hit it off after high school

and everything was fine until he started rambling about how much of a sex God he is. Ok first off

loser did I advertise that I was a nymphomaniac ? After twenty minutes in the conversation he began

to describe what and where so I politely told him to step back from my door ; yes I did slam it right in

front of his face.

Even though I did that to him I was running and hiding from him for six months. I think he got the picture

by now.

The fortune 500 company Google is hitting the world with their innovative ways to help the every day working class. Not only is Google one of the Top popular search engines in the world, but they are now hitting the home on a personal level. Google Tv is the hottest thing out and Google has partnered with another popular brand Sony to make this concept come alive.

Its is the battle of the Tv. Apple Tv vs Google Tv. Two Popular household brands going for mainstream production. It's amazing to me to see how two brands that are so popular around the world is now neck and neck for television.

Google also have so many opporunities for the entrepenuer from blogs to help with your very own answer machine that can be sync to your cell phone with a new phone number. Yes I did say your very own phone number. If you have a business and you don't wish to give your personal number out you can establish an account on Google , get a new number which is sync to your cell phone and you can pick that call up as if it's your personal business line.

Google is hitting the world by storm . What other concepts will they come up with next. Only time will tell.
